Mike is absolutely awesome - yesterday I broke down a short distance from his shop and ran into him at the gas station.  He helped push my car out of the way and took my key telling me he would take care of everything as soon as he had opened up!  Indeed he did this, putting my car ahead of other peoples and had my car ready for me by 9:45am so I could still head to work.  I love this guy! - Anonymous (5 star review found on Yelp)

No gouging, no unnecessary upselling. Sometimes we take a car in and if they find something additional wrong, it may need to be taken care of, that's a shop doing a thorough job, but many shops do this when it's not necessary for us as car owners. Mike is honest and a straight shooter, after being a sales/customer service and management professional for many years plus being a consumer too, I can tell when someone isn't honest. I believe this is why Oliver Auto is so busy and been around for as long as he has.  It's smart long term business, creating advocates and repeat loyal customers. Ok so I recently got a car that wasn't under factory warranty and had a problem with my car, I trust Mike at Oliver Automotive because of my previous experience in 2012. I took my car to him and he's the same ole mike, friendly, and kind, professional, trustworthy. I made an appointment, took my car in, he explained some things it could be and it made sense to me, I left the car with him for a few hours and when he called and gave me an update on how we would proceed with my problem and about how long it would take, I got a call saying "all done" explained what was done and the problem was taken care of and the price too.

After using another local mechanic in Novato who never seemed to be able to fix what was wrong with any of our cars (something new always popped up), I asked for a referral from my friends on Facebook and they all overwhelmingly suggested Mike Oliver.  We've been going to him for about 6 years now and he fixed what was wrong with our cars, that the other mechanic couldn't or wouldn't.  We have never had to go back once he made the repairs.  We see Mike Oliver regularly for our tune-ups and oil changes. My husband and I have been taking our cars here for years! Mike is the best that I've found.  He doesn't talk down to people, is honest, funny and most importantly TRUSTWORTHY.  Both my husband and I work down the street from Oliver Automotive, one morning I drove my car into get the oil changed and a few other things (they were going to have it all day) and I was going to walk the few blocks to work. Well, I didn't account for the huge rain storm (or monsoon), Mike drove me to work and even picked me up so I wouldn't have to walk in the rain. In this day and age, who does this anymore! I will not take my cars to anywhere else, unless it's warranty work.  My new car is a Honda, since Honda's engines are in sideways, I made sure Oliver automotive works on Honda's because that would go into my decision making process for purchasing a new car. – Jessica C (5 star review found on Yelp)
